Kansas City

Kansas City was one of the most memorable on the road. We were able to do many neat things and meet amazing humans. I felt extremely blessed.

KC is were I fell in love... with barbecue! Liam and I had barbecue almost every day in KC.  I was not a fan of barbecue before this but now I am officially converted. By the way, my favorite sauce was Arthur Bryant's Original Barbecue Sauce. It was delish!

On our off day, we went to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the American Jazz Museum. It was very interesting! A few days later, we went back to The Blue Room which is a section of the jazz museum that is opened to the public at nights. It is a great place to visit for some cocktails and jazz.

After one of our work days, we visited the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and toured the free sculpture garden which included giant shuttlecocks, a glass maze and some very interesting sculptures by a very vague artist.

That weekend, we went to yet another baseball game, the Kansas City Royals. This was a neat experience because we had awesome seats and it is right next to the KC Chiefs stadium. And my siblings just love when I get to visit NFL stadiums and send them pics.

The best park of KC week was being able to hang out with the Hutchinsons, Hotdogger Rosie's family! We visited them at Rosie's aunt's ranch for an eclipse party the day before the eclipse. It was so much fun! We slid down a homemade water slide, ate awesome food and got lost in the woods for a few minutes while trying to find the campsite. I am very grateful that we were able to hang out with them. Being on the road really makes us miss simple family moments and the Hutchinsons certainly made us feel like family. Thanks for sharing your family with us, Rosie!

Liam and I also attended a Kendrick Lamar concert. I was also very proud of myself for knowing about 20 percent of the lyrics after all that practicing (that is a lot for me as I never know full lyrics). It was so cool and we hung out at a cool spot with great throwback music.
