Des Moines

Des Moines was super duper fun! Even though I am indecisive and have a hard time choosing favorites, I can say I had the most fun in Des Moines, Iowa (I still would not say it was my favorite though). I went to my first wine and cheese tasting at a winery downtown.

On our first off day, Liam, Jac and I went shopping at the West Des Moines Mall, which happened to be right next to our hotel. Jac's family arrived that afternoon and we spent that evening with them at dinner and at a tasty, hipster coffee shop called Smokey Row.

Our second off day, Jac spent it with her family while Liam and I enjoyed Adventureland. It was a blast! I had been wanting to check out an amusement park and Des Moines was the perfect place. We were in the park all day and we got on almost all of the rides. We definitely made the most of that day.

Lucky us, we were in town right on time for the Iowa State Fair. Liam and I went by for a few hours after work one day. My favorite part about the state fair was buying 45 tiny donuts that lasted me a few days. They were amazing!

My favorite part about Des Moines, altogether, was getting to see Jorge for a night. Jorge was one of my closest friends in high school and seeing him for a few hours was like having a small piece of home with me after months. He was my first official visitor and I hope we can meet up again soon. I could not be more proud of him.

FYI, the pictures I have used lately were, obviously, not taken with my Nikon camera. These are a some (of MANY) pics taken for my Snapchat.
