This weekend as I was driving down Business 83 from Mercedes to Weslaco, I was persuaded to stop at a car wash fundraiser by boy named Ray. This kid was very good at brining people in just by standing on the side of the road with a sign. I do not usually fall for this but he was very charismatic and I had some extra time on my hands. I could not believe he was standing on the side of road during our 90 degree Texas weather. Turns out, these young boys belong to a Christian church's youth group and were fundraising for a trip to San Antonio. In this trip, they are going to a church to serve people who have lost their way in life and suffer with drug addictions. On their way back home after serving others, they are going to enjoy themselves at Schiltterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels. It was great running into these folks. getting to know about them and being able to help them help others. It is amazing knowing that simple actions we do can help someone else a whole lot... plus, my car got a nice wash.
